Corporate identity, packaging designs and visual communication for the record label Farmacia901.

Farmacia901 was a media-network founded around principles of beauty as minimalism, music as design and sound as malleable material, fusing elements ranging from experimental electronics to sound art and microsounds. The label focused on releasing sound works via limited edition CDs, art-objects and digital works that combine a deeply emotional aim with a clear conceptual framework and aesthetic vision.

The logo takes inspiration from the string theory. It is a rework of a worldsheet swept up by closed strings.
Quark: How Does The Invisible Sound? is a media project born with the specific intent of exploring the possible inter-relationship between sound and the invisible, strictly related to science and physics.
It relies on monthly digital releases and a MaxMSP custom software called Cconfin, inspired by elementary particles interactions and a physical phenomenon known as Colour Confinement. The software allows the artists and musicians involved to seek and discover their own vision of the invisible through sound by treating and processing audio files via custom algorithms.
Presented as a collection of digital graphic cards and heterogeneous sound art pieces, the research aims to find a deep connection as close as possible to the boundary of knowledge.
An attempt at quantum sound in a not-visible yet perceptible world.
Book design for Shinkei and Luigi Turra’s collaborative work “Kailash”. Mount Kailash is a peak in the Himalayan mountains of western Tibet. The source of some of the longest rivers in Asia, Kailash is considered a sacred place for four faiths: Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and the indigenous Tibetan religion of Bön.
Kailash marks the second collaboration between Italian sound artists Shinkei (David Sani) and Luigi Turra. After the subtle investigation of Japanese aesthetics with the album “Yu” (Non Visual Objects, 2009), they embraced a new vision in their research, however still characterized by the same spiritual and extremely meticulous approach to the sound matter. They created an intimate, almost intangible yet tactile piece, taking aural cues from the eastern culture once again.

Interstitial Spaces (F90111) is the follow-up to Fabio Perletta’s 2013 CD Field: Atom(s) Entropy. With this new work Perletta investigates the physical phenomenon of the “Interstitial Space” which is the point in a crystal lattice where the perfection of the atomic structure is broken or suspended resulting in open spaces for unexpected resonances.

Inspired by Yoctometer, which ismeasure of length that is equal to 10-24 of a meter (0.000000000000000000000001 m), the project delves into the relationship between visible and invisible. Both pieces grow from silences and rarefied molecules of sound, increasingly thickening into combinations of microscopic events and delicate drones.
