“Voices from your future past" emerged from Mote’s critical exploration of the concept of expanded realities and the nitty-gritty of reality. Conceived around the voice-phonè-body paradigm, it is a work thriving to place vocality and human presence within the contrasts and contradictions of artistic practices concerning embodiment in virtually mediated realities.
Working with Norwegian singer and artist Stine Janvin, Mote (Luciani-Perletta) created a sound work exploring Janvin’s vocality and her sensible, linguistic and musical dimensions. The representation of the singer's voice singularity was dissected, transformed into a spatial vocal body, extended through the city map of Oslo and perceived only through augmented reality and three-dimensional sound stages.
A rigorous discipline of removal, in which the authors surgically reduced Janvin’s sonic indexicality and the music illusion that her voice-body produced. The work became a disorienting, uncanny experience. What is the aesthetic/ecstatic potential that a human voice can produce once it is injected into an artificially constructed space? What does this gigantic sound body tell us about the intra-relations that we share and emotionally respond to when we become exposed to a virtual spatial situation?
“Voices from your future past" is conceived by sound artists and composers Davide Luciani, Fabio Perletta, and spatial sound artist Jordan Juras in collaboration with Norwegian artist and singer Stine Janvin. it is curated by Daniela Arriado and produced by Art Republic and Mote Studio. The work is presented by Son.AR, a collective and curatorial-research project dedicated to aural research in relation to mixed media realities, sonic arts and public spaces.

The installation is located in 3 areas across the city of Oslo, in the proximity to Blå, Atelier Nord, Sentralen, Oslo Kunstforening and the Oslo Opera House. The audience is invited to take a journey through these locations, seeking out physical-virtual sites of aural experiences.
The artwork can be experienced individually at each location or as a sound walk. The audio dramaturgy is characterised by extended vocal techniques spatialised by a 3D audio render engine interacting with the listener's position and distance in space. The video shows one of the three scenes, the one called "A" which features musical choirs. The audio in the video is recorded in binaural. For a better listening experience, it is recommended the use of headphones.
